Are you considering running cross country this fall? Do you want to get in shape for another sport? Or do you just want to get in better shape? Then this is the camp for you. For the newcomers, we’ll get you started on the right foot by introducing you to the joy of running.
For the more serious athletes, you’ll learn about eating to win, improving core strength, finding your proper running form and pace for various types of workouts, and incorporating dynamic stretching into your workouts. All participants will receive a technical t-shirt (you’ll have to come to camp to find out technical t-shirts are literally cooler than regular t-shirts).
Instructor: Presentation Academy Math Teacher and Cross Country Coach Lou Armstrong has been spotted running the streets of Louisville for nearly 40 years – first as a member of the state champion Ballard High School cross country team and Stanford University cross country team, and most recently as a marathon runner. He has coached runners for 12 years, including a number of athletes who have achieved success as middle school and high school state champions.
