Fred's Team Runs for Olmsted Parks

Run or Walk the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon or miniMarathon to support Louisville’s Olmsted Parks.

Who is Fred? Frederick Law Olmsted is the visionary landscape architect who designed the sytem of parks and parkways in Louisville including Iroquois, Shawnee and Cherokee Parks. Mr. Olmsted also designed Central park in New York City. Fred’s Team supports the work of Olmsted Parks Conservancy to restore, enhance and preserve our treasured parks.

Why Join Fred’s Team? This year Olmsted Parks Conservancy is partnering with the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and mini-Marathon. Individuals or teams can join “Fred’s Team” to help raise much needed funds to support work in the Olmsted parks and parkways. Five Olmsted-designed parks and two Olmsted-designed parkways are part of the official course of the KDF marathon and mini-marathon. These parks are vital to our health as a community and as individuals. By raising funds for these historic parks you help preserve the green spaces or our city.
